Mother’s day this sunday..Why is it so hard to buy for mom on Mother’s day?! It should be soo easy, If your mom is anything like mine; she’ll LOVE it no matter what ..just because its from you! But for me–because she has done so much for me, no matter what I look at-It just doesn’t seem worthy. Spending some time looking around I started thinking “If I was a mom what would I like?” LOL I know, the idea is a little far fetched-but I love gift hunting-not exactly gift buying if that makes any sense.

So I found some super cute and super affordable “mom” gifts that I like:)

It was a toss up between Lotus or Tiesto

Unwilling to pay the price for Tiesto we were fortunate enough to catch Lotus at Emos.

I wish I could have bottled up the energy, the vibes, and the music.

It was a venue with 2 outdoor stages and one inside, all playing live music.

Last night was the first time we’ve ever discovered the 2nd outdoor stage

And needless to say I fell in love with it

With a crazy storm going around us, I was cozy underneath the venue roof surrounded by everyone dancing.

I couldn’t differentiate the raindrops from the sweat.

This very moment was what I was looking for in Austin all along.

YES, Austin IS weird after all.

Looking through my pictures I can’t find 1 that even justifies the atmosphere.

And words can’t explain it.

Sometimes you have to close your eyes to see.

I like to call this a portrait

A “not so mellow mushroom”

I think I can find some wall space for this.

Speaking of wall space, me and aaron have been getting in the habit of being poster bandits

Aaron’s friends stopped by Austin on their hitchhiking voyage and paid us a visit! It was really great to have their company, can’t wait to visit them in Portland.

Lolly gagging  lol— hiking to matts tunes was pretty entertaining

Coffee, ah just what my sleepyhead needs.

Sitting at the coffeehouse with Aaron. While he works, I try to reflect.

b.t.w. props to Dominican Joes for their scrumptious honey cream latte. yum!

Its 9 am and I’ve been up for a couple hours already (very rare).

Been to a meeting and back and fighting the urge to go back to sleep.

Starting my new job has really inspired me to be motivated

And also made me realize how lazy I’ve been. oops.

*Never realized how lost I really was until I got my g.p.s  stolen. All of a sudden, I don’t know how to get to places that I drove to everyday for the past month?

Ridiculous, I know, Aaron has been really patient with me calling him all the time for turn by turn directions to work and back. hehe

How did I not even know which direction I was heading or which way I came from?!

* Oh and names, not my forte only because I probably  never cared enough to try to remember.:-/

I can remember your entire order the next time you come, but I will never retain something as simple as your name.

That’s gotta change.

*Most importantly, I realized how clouded my visions were when I was job and location hunting.

I wanted only certain jobs with killer pay in an amazing city.

Wow, was I in for an awakening b/c its never that easy or that glamorous.

Not only did I think that I could land a job on my first interview by just getting them to like me

but little did I know that killer pay and entry-level is an oxymoron and the better the city the stiffer the competition.

Slowly but surely I’m realizing that I need to gain experience first before I can be part of a dream Ad Agency.

And that I need to make it here in Austin first before I try to make it in San Francisco.

I’m gonna be honest, leaving my comfort zone has been a real challenge

But I’m happy about the thought of this: Reflecting on realistic goals has really help me with growth.

Came across this image. And it made me think. Happiness, Is it really this simple? HA!

Yes, today pretty optimistic. Today I landed my first job towards a career goal.

My favorite way to spend the day.. creating something out of my household items. I mean, If I have to keep them, I might as well recreate them as a better form than what they were before. Or at least I like to think so!

The 2nd life of a  shoebox lid: with the help of some paint, an old candle, magazine and newspaper clippings:

First I wanted to make a collage, then I found myself wanting a little more texture.

With a little mod podge, paint and melted wax I was able to get my

texture fix!

The print is by a local artist (Alyson Fox) featured in a magazine I had. Her style is really simplistic playing off blank space.
