Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the dead)

For some people it might be a little too early to be thinking about Halloween costumes

Halloween is my favorite holiday b/c unlike any other day of the year its accepted to run around in bizarre costumes and and really take on a different character.

This year I’m inspired to explore the dark side of Halloween and be something besides…pretty and half-naked :-P

♥ Double Exposures ♥

August 31, 2010 - 12:57 am No Comments

When I was living in East TN It was always a struggle for me to find a place to develop lomography film. So it laid forgotten about on a shelf above my bed.

On a hot sunny day, me & Aaron finally took my Holga & my Diana out for a spin on our fave street of South Congress here in Austin.

I can’t wait to see how they turned out! Maybe it’s the wait that make the end product of film cameras that much more rewarding.

I was inspired by the natural saturation due to sun leaks, and the ability for double exposures out of these fun toy cameras.

Here’s some fascinating images that keep me inspired:

Although not taken by a Holga or a Diana, I enjoy seeing different elements to a picture.

A visual read

August 18, 2010 - 5:14 pm No Comments

It’s always on my “hobbies to pick up list” I need to read more often.

A friend suggested reading twilight saying that I would never want to put it down, truth is-it was ok

And after a few chapters, I put it down. Just like most books I start–I never finish.

I was the kid that read books to look at the pictures, 16 years later I’m still guilty of that habit.

Once someone told me that how you were at 6 is your true self.

A time in your life where self-awareness, and the judgment of others didn’t matter much to you.

Without 2nd thoughts you did what you want, said what you thought, and your imagination was your number 1 companion.

So if I can’t get into 500 page novels, so be it. But this book I can visually read all day long!

Book is sold out –so IF anyone can get their hands on it pass it my way!!

Light as a feather

August 10, 2010 - 3:44 am No Comments

Inspired by the natural patterns and colors, I made a little feather head piece today.

Perfect for summertime frolicking ;)

So fun so light and the best part is its incredibly Easy Peasy, so try this at home, really–

Took a leather band, tied a couple feathers, strung some beads, and wrapped some dyed string (like hair wrapping) and ta-da done!

Summer just flew past me, I can’t believe its already August.

A part of me wants to just sit still & cling on to right now– in hopes that my youth will seem like it lasts a lifetime.

Another part of me (my anxious nature) is eager to take a leap, hungry for something new, strange, and wonderful.

eye wanna play

July 24, 2010 - 1:58 am No Comments

Main Inspiration: Karen O’s head dress b/c is badass. Neon-ed up..

I hardly ever wear eye makeup, so I decided to switch it up for shows and raves.

Might be extreme but alot of fun and pretty easy.

A video ( of someone who can do it ALOT better haha)

Go the extra step and use some glow in the dark paint!
